At last I can update! My computer went down the shitter again, and is being repaired. I will not get it back for at least 1 week which sucks. I have a loner computer from computer networking services until my hard drive is replaced. I lost a lot of stuff, but they were however able to salvage 10 gigs. worth of stuff, so I am in okay shape. This has been however an unwanted inconvenience. So I will try to sum up everything major going on right now.1. Drama with my RA staff. They have all confronted me on a personal basis. I had to explain to them why I didn't like them, and that I am direspected and that I do not want to be their friends, I just want respect in the work place. It is now awkward because I also confronted them about talking "shit" about me when I had 100% evident proof. THIS IS SO HIGH SCHOOL...so I am over it. I am better than they are and that is that.2. I am really having a creative block with my current sculpture assignment, it's been a week and I still have nothing concrete. I was afraid that this was going to happen. Doing plaster casts really limits me, but at the same time doesn't. I have a new kind of artistic freedom with materials, but I am having a difficult time finding a point of view.3. Friday morning I had a phone interview with H&M because I am hoping to work there this summer. I did really well, so I made it to round 2 which is a personal interview. So this Wed. I have an interview in person with the manager of the H&M store I am applying to. I figure this would be healthy for me because it's ME that's getting me the job (assuming I get it). I loved my job at Innovations, but I am ready to move on. It was a great work experience, and I gained so much from it. I am very thankful to Richy's sister for getting me the job. Now I need to work the fashion ladder, and I will. From working at my FAVORITE clothing store, I am gaining an understanding of fashion retail. After one year, I should have enough experience to become a visual merchandiser doing window displays and so on. After that I can easily move on to fashion design, photography, or merchandising. Once I break into that, I will be part of the fashion industry in which I will quickly make my way to the top and my dream of becoming a hot shot will finally happen. But I need this job at H&M first. 4. Friday fucking RULED!!!!! I went to the Museum of Modern Art for an art assignment, and I had Christi meet me there. It was awesome. And I have the pictures to prove it. First of all, I was so excited to see Christi. I haven't seen her since winter break, and I missed her so much. We have also not been into the city in years. It was also a lot of fun because I love art so much, and I was able to share it with my best friend. The whole time I kept making her take pictures of me next to certain pieces because I'm THAT lame. But we had such a blast. They had such great art at the MoMA. First of all...They had 2 Dan Flavin pieces!!!! He is my favorite artist of all time. He does sculpture displays using neon lights. I have seen the one pink bar in the corner the first time I went to the MoMA, but I never got to see any of his major displays. This time there was an excellent exhibition on color, and there was this big room with a huge neon light set up he had done. It was so amazing getting to experience one of his neon and color environments. It was really exciting for me. I def. screamed and jumped up and down making a damn fool of my self. The funny thing is that on the level of the MAJOR Flavin display, photography was not allowed, and I was SO upset because I really wanted a picture with a Flavin...so I made Christi sneak pictures of me when the guards had their backs turned. It was actually quite funny. I also got to meet some of the art pieces that were on my art history exam by artists like Picasso, Gogauin, Matisse,Rodin, and so on. And when no one was looking I touched. I love love love touching art. I don't know what it is about it, but I touched everything that I felt was important to me. When you touch it, it's like touching a celebrity...it makes the art become REAL..and not just something visual. That is why I always tell people they can touch my art work. Even if it gets damaged, art pieces are meant to decay over time.Any who, if this gets even more lame...I was hunting for one of my favorite sculptures of all time, who was on my computer desktop background, and I post posts about him like ALL THE TIME,Unique Forms of Continuity in Space by Umberto Boccioni. When I found him, again hahahaah, I was sooooo excited. I made Christi take like a shitton of pictures of me with my man of bronze. I also got to see another Boccioni sculpture that I love called Development of a Bottle in Space. And of course... I TOUCHED THEM BOTH!!!!!!!! I touched my favorite sculpture!!!! When the guard wasn't looking I totally grapped it quickly. I did however find out today that some of the pieces at the MoMA have alarms on it when touched!!!! So I am sooo lucky that none of the art that I touched had alarms. (and i sure touched a shit ton of art too).4. So after the MoMA christi and I took the path and light rail to bayonne, and ate mac. and cheese at her house. After about an hour, our friend Ryan picked us up and took us to his house in Elizzy. We called Sarah and she came and met us there. It was awesome. I was with my 3 best friends from high school. We played this game like guitar hero, but it was like an entire band. I think its called Rock Band? Either way it fucking ruled. We all took turns on different instruments. I was better at the singing part and the guitars. But I did however fail at the drums, where Sarah totally ruled the drums. It was really great being with them. It's also good for me to hang out with my male friends because I too like video games, zombies, and that kind of stuff that my lady friends aren't WAY into. So Friday was a really great day. Also cheap considering what I did. I didn't pay for NJ transit because the conducter missed me. And the MoMA was free since it was Friday. I got a ride back to my car in Roselle Park because Sarah drove me back, so I didn't need to take NJ transit back nor wait in Newark penn station which I hate doing. So now for a very HEAVY picture post. This is me with the Dan Flavin piece. This is the actual display by Dan Flavin. Isn't is awesome?! This is a painting I studied last semester by Frank Stella. He is one of my favorite painters. This is the famous blue canvas by Yves Klein. I took the picture up close. This floor was so fucking amazing. I really loved it so much.Me and my favorite sculpture!!!! Eeeeeeeee!!! This picture means so much to me. This one sculpture looked like the bead curtain on the cover of a Brittany Spears CD. So Christi stood behind it doing the pose. Then I shopped it haha. This chair is amazing. I forgot the artist name, but it looked like something I would do. I touched it of course. I loved this so much for so many reasons. The color. The structure. The smoothness. The fact that you could see thru it. Ugh, so amazing. I slid my hand across the top. It was amazing.I wish I got to read the information card about this piece, but I didn't get to. Looks like I will never know what the artist was going for. Either way, it looked really interesting. This is a famous minimalist sculpture. I love it so much. I met it before too the first time I went to the MoMA. It reminds me very much of a spinal collumn. Either way I love it.This was a Picasso sculpture of a bull. It's so cute. It was cool seeing a sculpture of his other than a painting.I look so awkward.Double trouble.Christi trying to camoflage her purse in the painting. I looove this picture.Me with another Dan Flavin. I touched this guy before.Us hangin out with Pollack. TUNE IN TONIGHT @ 11:00 for my Radio Show!!!Drew.edu/WMNJSource
